Church News...

August is Food Closet Month!
August is our second month to supply and staff Broken Bread, the ecumenical food closet, located at Christ Episcopal Church. Father Brockman tells us that business is picking up and that the July volunteers were very busy. Praise God for the impact this ministry is having on our area! We are accepting donations of non-perishable food items at the back of the sanctuary in Delaware City and right inside the front door at Port Penn. We also will need two people to staff the food closet every Thursday evening in August from 6:30-8:30 p.m. To volunteer, please contact Sue Schauber, 834-0361, or Jewel Blansfield, 834-4483.

VBS is coming!
Vacation Bible School will be held at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Delaware City, from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 3 through Friday, Aug. 7. The theme is Roman Market Place and all of our children are encouraged to attend. Helpers also are needed. Last year’s event was a community blessing and this year promises more of the same! See Linda Heeren, 220-0942, for more information.
